This teardrop opal is set in a simple sterling setting with 14 karat gold embellishments both above and below in wire and three little dots. Different angles enhance different colors within the stone, with flashes of green and blue throughout the opal, and a deep red wash on the left half. Opals have been known as the divination stone, known as the tears of the gods due to their rainbow colors. Black opals are the most sought after opal for their brilliant colors, or "fire" that reflect the spirit, and this high grade stone is over 2 carats and has lot of fire. This comes with an 18" sterling chain.
